Homelessness
Homelessness in London has been a major issue for many years. Due to the cost of living crisis more and more people cannot afford to pay their rent and have to choose between buying food or paying bills. It is currently on the increase and there is a situation now where many homeless charities are starting to find more people contacting them for support. We as a church have a part to play in supporting the homeless in the borough.
Being part of the change
From October to April each year, churches across Tower Hamlets join in with GrowTH and open their doors up for 1 or 2 nights a week, for 2 to 3 months at a time.
On a typical evening, guests will arrive and be welcomed by a team of volunteers from the church. A hot meal will be prepared and everyone will sit down together to eat. Afterwards, the guests have the opportunity to participate in a bible study and be prayed for. In the morning, a breakfast is provided and the guests will leave and head to GrowTH’s day centre in Poplar.

GrowTH’s Vision
At GrowTH, our vision is to see God transform the lives of marginalised men and women in Tower Hamlets, for His glory. At our core, we are a partnership of churches who love our homeless neighbours and demonstrate that love through the provision of a church-based night shelter, offering a hot evening meal, a warm bed, a listening ear and breakfast the next day.
