Thy Kingdom Come Here 2024

We did it…. well 70% of all of the streets in Tower Hamlets have been prayer walked in May, June and the beginning of July.

We partnered with Thy Kingdom Come Here to pilot a vision to see every street in London prayed walked. That is happening next year, get ready to start walking at Pentecost, but this year we trialed the app and started spreading the word. It was such an encouraging time. 193 people got walking and over 1000 kms were racked up! 

But, the profound thing is not the distance or the percentage, it’s the prayer! We know that prayer matters and as we get out and prayer walk our streets things change and we change too. We notice more things, pray more closely for people, take new interest in our streets, parks, canals. Prayer walking is an amazing spiritual discipline where contemplation and intercession meet. Since we have been regularly prayer walking together in Tower Hamlets we have noticed change. More awareness by non-Christians in the work of the churches, more unity between the churches. More people asking, what is God doing here? What is the good news Jesus has for this or that person or place?

This was such an encouraging start to a great ecumenical initiative and we are super excited to do 100% of the streets in 2025!
